My uncle Sammy Goverman was also a baker. He must have learned the profession from his father, Meyer. He opened his own bakery called Govy's in Baltimore City. He was also a car salesman. He was fearless. He took up flying lessons well into his adult years and got his pilot's license.
He offered to take my brother for an airplane ride and he did something wrong. He was ordered to come down from the sky by the authorities and he was detained for awhile until he could prove exactly where he was going and that he did indeed have a legitimate pilot's license.
My uncle died on Thanksgiving Day when he was just 54 years old from a sudden massive heart attack.
he was a very protective brother to his big sister, my mother, Lee.
He loved learning how to do things for himself. He paved and cemented his own patio at his home.
His children were Karen Beth and Ronald Goverman.
He did a mean Russian dance at my wedding.
