Mother: Hannah

Samuel, son of Ensign Jared Spencer, died August 7, 1705. He married (first) 1673, Hannah Blachford, or Blachfield, widow of Peter Blachford, or Blachfield, of Haddam, formerly of New London, who died September 1, 1671, aged forty-six. She was also widow of Thomas Hungerford, of New London, and daughter of Isaac Willey, of New London. She died about 1681.

Samuel Spencer married (second) 1689, Miriam Willey, widow of John Willey, of Haddam, formerly of New London, and daughter of Miles Moore, of New London. Mr. John Willey died May 2, 1668.

Samuel married first Hannah (Willey)(Hungerford) Blachford or Blachfield about 1663 and had issue; married second Miriam (Moore) Willey, 1689, and had no issue; died August 7,1705.<ref>The Macdonough-Hackstaff Ancestry.</ref> ::: Note: "about 1763" from The Macdonough-Hackstaff Ancestry. :Samuel Spencer, son of Gerard, was born about 1650, died at East Haddam, Conn., 7 Aug 1705; inventory of his estate was taken 7 Feb 1705/6; married first, about 1673, Hannah (Willey) (Hungerford) Blatchford, who died about 1681, daughter of Isaac Willey, widow of Thomas Hungerford (died 1663) and of Peter Blatchford (died 1671); married second, in 1689, Miriam (Moore) Willey, born [say 1655], living 1706, daughter of Miles Moore, widow of John Willey. :John Spencer of Haddam East Side, Administrator of his father Samuel's estate, conveyed 8 Feb 1709/10 to his brother Isaac and sister Hannah Spencer. On 14 Feb 1717/18, John and Isaac Spencer conveyed and Hannah his wife; and the same date, said Picke and wife of Haddam conveyed to John and Isaac Spencer, right to estate which belonged to Peter Blachford or Peter Blachford Jr. his son, also right "our father" Samuel Spencer had in that estate [East Haddam Deeds, 1:50, 234, 235].

    :Hannah Willey and John Willey were siblings, children of Isaac Willey (of Wales) and Johanna Lutten (or Ludden). Hannah had three children (Thomas, Sarah and Hannah) with her first husband, ThomasHungerford who died in 1663. She had three children (Johanna, Peter,and Mary) with her second husband, Peter Blachfield who was a veteranof the Pequot War of 1637 and later moved to Haddam. She married herthird husband, Samuel Spencer 1672/73 and had three children (Grace, John and Isaac). Samuel and Hannah were the grandparents of Major General Joseph Spencer who served in the Revolutionary War. :John Willey was born at New London, about 1649 and married Miriam Moore in 1669.
