Samuel WHITE - RIN:13198 (Resolved , William ) was born on 13 Mar 1645/1646 in Scituate, Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts. He was christened on 15 Mar 1645/1646 in Scituate, Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts. He died on 20 Sep 1720 in Rochester, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.
To rest by a subsequent articles in NEHGR and TAG, NEHGR 115:83 questioned a marriage to Rebecca Lapham and the accuracy of Bridgewater VR to 1850, which gives marriage and cemetery information for this marriage. This study, proposed her to be possibly the wife of Samuel White who was born (or baptized) on the same day as she and and whose wife Rebecca is believed to have died in 1711. While the articles does not conclude that Rebecca Lapham was not John's wife, it asks for the conclusion that Rebecca Lapham as John's wife is not proven.
Samuel White and wife Rebecca continued having children after Rebecca Lapham married John Washburne. There is extensive history on Rebecca Lapham and John Washburne, suggesting that Rebecca Lapham was not the wife of Samuel White.
Born in Scituate, Plymouth Colony on 13 March 1646. Died between March 1729/30 and April 1731. Was in Sandwich as early as 20 May 1667, when Major Josiah Winslow of Marshfield (half brother of Samuel's father) deeded land to him at that address. He was still in Sandwich on 8 June 1671 when he and Rebecca deeded land. In 1679 Samuel was listed as one of the proprietors of Rochester. On 17 July 1697 Samuel White, Sr. of Rochester deeded land in Rochester to his son, Melatiah White of Rochester. Samuel was before the court in September 1720, March 1723/24, December 1729, and March 1729/30 for not attending public worship.
