About Samuel Isaac Wormser
Member of the 1st generation of his family to be born in Aldingen, a small farming village in SW Germany, which never grew into a large city.
Was a hard-working man and meticulous in the operation of his business. In his ledger he listed the name of each person owing him money and the amount of each transaction.
At the beginning of his journal, Samuel signed himself as "Guggenheim," but as time progressed he used "Wormbser" as his last name, and still later (correctly) omitted the letter b; thus the surname became Wormser,
Very strong-willed man, and charitable, despite not having much money.
