About Sara Rivka Goldberg
Sara Rivka Hollander Goldberg, b. 1872 (26th, month of Tamuz, TRL"G). Daughter of Shraga Feiver Hollander and Malka Shtrom. moved to Israel with husband in 1934. After her husband died, she lived with Karl and Shoshana, Gideon and Malka, who had a big flat in Tel-Aviv, although she was a religious woman and they were not.
In 1942 when Tel-Aviv was bombed, Sara fell from her bed. She got ill, became paralyzed, and Martha and Norbert took her to Jerusalem and took care of her. Norbert used to carry Sara in his arms and talk to her. Ruth remembers that Sara said that Norbert was like a son to her. She used to arrange Ruth's plates. Sara had a cancer in the spinal cord and the doctors said she should go to the hospital. . She died at Martha's home around February 1942 (26th month Heshvan TS"B) Burried in Jerusalem.
