About Sarah Beal

Sarah Ripply, dtr of William Ripply, was baptized 28 Oct 1627, at Virgin Mary and St Thomas a Becket parish, Wymondham, Norfolk, England. She died 29 Jun 1715 at Hingham, Suffolk County, Province of Massachusetts Bay.

Sarah emigrated with her family from England to New England in 1638 aboard the Diligent.. Upon their arrival in New England, Sarah's family settled at Hingham in the Massachusetts Bay Colony

Sarah married Jeremiah Beal (son of John Beal - her cousin).. There are conflicting records for their date and place of marriage. According to Rev. Peter Hobart's journal, they were married in Boston on November 18, 1652.[3] The History of Hingham, which no doubt relied on Hobart's journal, also states that they were married on that date.[4] However, the compiled Boston records published in NEHGR in 1856 states that they were married in Boston on October 26, 1653,[5] while the compiled Boston records published in the NEHGR in 1859 states that they were married in Hingham on October 18, 1652.[6]
