Family

Children of Sarah Marvin and James Beckwith

The children were born at Lyme, Connecticut.[2]

  1. James Beckwith, b. 1 May, 1695 ; d. 2 Oct, 1794, in Bristol, Ct., lacking a few months of being a centenarian; m. (1), 15 Oct., 1717, in Lyme, Rebecca Lamb; she united with the church there in June, 1731 ; m. (2), 19 Jan'y, 1749, in Southington, Ct., Widow Hannah Barnes, d. 17 Aug., 1758; m. (3), 28 Aug., 1760, in Southington, Widow Mary How, d. 16 March, 1767 ; m. (4), 14 Feb., 1769, in Southington, Widow Abigail (Clark) Sperry, b. 15 Feb 1713; d. 02 Nov 1798, dau. of Samuel and Mary (Browne) Clark, of North Haven, Connecticut. Notes for Abigail Clark : apparently married Unknown Sperry and Jonathan Bronson and James Beckwith; perhaps the Abigail Clark who married James Bronson is the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Browne) Clark. But, the one who married James Beckwith and John Sperry was the daughter of George and Sarah Clark; this disagrees with the Tuttle genealogy which claims that after Jonathan Bronson's death, she married three times, the last, 14 Feb 1769, to James Beckwith
