About Sarah Blair

Biography

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Morgan-3431

Sarah Morgan is thought to be the daughter of John Morgan and Sarah Lloyd, whose marriage in 1721 is recorded at Haverford Friends Meeting, in Haverford PA. Her memorial page at Find A Grave, since removed, gave them as her parents. It also gives her birth as 22 Sep 1729, but one previous profile now merged into this one stated that this was the birth date of a child Sarah who was the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah Morgan[1] . Another profile gave her birth date as "abt 1730, Baptism Date: 30 Mar 1730, Age at Baptism: 3 weeks." Quakers do not practice infant baptism, so if John Morgan and Sarah Lloyd were her parents, this record presumably is not for her.

These discrepancies need to be resolved.

Sarah married Colbert Blair prior to July, 1750 (birthdate of son Enos Blair), but the exact date of their marriage is uncertain. Ailene Beeson's book[2] on the Beeson family (who connect with the Blairs later on in North Carolina), states that they married on 18 Jul 1748 in Nottingham, Chester Co. PA, but we don't have a primary record for this.

There are additional uncertainties about when Colbert and Sarah Blair moved to North Carolina, and whether they settled first in Guilford County, or moved directly to their final home in Burke County NC. Please see the notes for Colbert Blair and for their children, especially Enos Blair, for more information.

Some files state that Sarah died in Guilford County NC, but this seems unlikely in view of the fact that the family was living in Burke or Caldwell county, much further west, long before her death. She is buried, or at least has a memorial, at Cedar Valley Cemetery, in Caldwell Co. NC.
