Sarah Tarbell was born about 1648. [Ref: she was age 33 in Oct 1681.] She died in 1715 in Salem, a widow. She married Cornelius Church on 14 Jun 1670 in Chelmsford. [Ref] Their intention was recorded on 4 Jun in Groton and Sarah's name was incorrectly recorded as "Mary".

Sarah mentions her sister's son James Bennett and Samuel Cutler, Jr. of Salem, who married her sister's daughter [Ref: Sarah Sawtell], in her will.

He wrote the following in his publication "Anthrogenealistory" Vol. 2 No. 1 Dec. 25, 1995:

"Rebecca Nurse.. her son Francis moved to Reading after the hanging and married Sarah Tarbell, or so thought many esteemed genealogists. In 1994, however, genealogical investigator Barbara Mathews (on a case for a Mrs. Jane E. Palmer of Kensett, Iowa)... In "The American Genealogist" she set forth convincing proof that Sarah Tarbell had in fact married Cornelius Church.
