About Sarah Craggin
Sarah Dawes emigrated as a servant to John Wyman in Woburn, and arrived on the "John and Sarah". The ship was full of prisoners of war from the English Civil, Scotsmen who were bound for Boston to be sold into servitude. It is one of the few ships of this tme to have a fairly complete passenger list of its human cargo because as slaves the Scots were valuable merchandise.
Daniel Mecrist was another servant in the Wyman household, but he couldn't marry Sarah because he was already married to a woman back in England. She had 2 children by him before John Craggin married her in 1661 and took in her children.
John Craggin and Sarah Dawes had 8 children of their own. John Craggin's daughter Sarah married Francis Nourse/Nurse Jr., (the son of Rebecca Towne Nurse/Nourse).
