About Sarah Elizabeth Webster (Gobey)
Sarah Gobey (Mrs J Webster). She, her husband and two daughters, Hannah Louise and Mary Alice, trekked up from Marico in the Zeerust district. Theirs was known as the Webster Trek (1893). Information from Mrs M. Edwards, Chipinga, 27/6/1957. Also p. 164 "Many Treks Made Rhodesia,” by S. P. Olivier.

Sarah was 25 and Joseph 30 when they married in 1871. He was a Hotel Proprietor in Grahamstown.

Sarah married Webster. Went to Rhodesia. Husband was killed while out shooting in Mt Pleasant,now Salisbury. The Wanderer, Above the mists of time. by Sir Ken Markham, K.C.B. Mrs J. Webster 1893 Nee Sarah Gobey. She, her husband and 2 daughters, Hannah Louisa and Mary Alice, trekked up from Marico in the Zeerust District. This was known as the WEBSTER TREK. Mrs F. King 1893 Nee Mary Alice Webster. Trekked up with her parents from Zeerust and later lived in Chipinga. Mrs Edwards 1893 Nee Hannah Louisa Webster, Travelled up with her parents. They were in Fort Victoria Laager and later settled in Chipinga.Her first husband, Mr J.H. Robertson, died in 1904 and she remarried in 1908 in Chipinga until her death in 1958, aged 78.
