About Sarah Lessa Rivka Marovich Meyerson
Note from Lin Finger- Her name is cited variously as Lesa Reva, Lesa Rivka, Lasa Reva, and even Lasa Riva. No idea which is accurate. The differences may be the result of Hebrew vs Yiddish vs Lithuanian vs Russian. Riva is Hebrew, and Rivka is Yiddish. She married a man with comparable name issues. Isaac (Itzik) Meyerson (Meyerovitz). In the Fleishman family papers there is a descendency list, and it lists Isaac's name as Itzik Meyerovitz, and Lesa is listed as Lesa Reva. Since NONE of her names translate to Sarah, I have no idea why we are calling her that. I believe she may have been called Lucy /Lacy on census and death cert. A Lucy Meyerovitz died on 1933-01-27, preceding Issac who is listed as a widower on his Nov 3 1937 death cert. Isaac and Lesa are buried together, and yes she died in 1933. Jewish Waldheim Cemetery (Silverman and Weiss section) aka OBA In addition, the same family papers (Fleishman) list 3 daughters (Grace Rose and Gertrude), and no other children, hence no son Morris who married Golda Meir. LATER UPDATE: After extensive research, it is clear that someone has erroneously confused this identity with Sarah Myerson (Denver 1910 census) the mother of Morris Myerson, who later married Golda Meir. This is simply wrong, as both identities existed separately for several decades. Corrections need to be carefully undertaken, so as not to cause tree collapse.
