(interesting to note that George and Maria gave birth to Charles John Green on the 23rd September 1851 - 4 months later and he was not baptised until 30th July 1854, I wonder what was the reason for the baptism of all the children so close to the birth of James (why not just wait until his birth - and then leaving James’ baptism for another nearly3 years!)

Notes - From Evergreen Memories
“ The eighth child and third daughter of George and Maria was born on the 23rd May 1844 into what was by then an affluent and respected and respected family in the colony. Her childhood was a happy one, with three sisters and seven brothers to keep her company. She told in later years how the girls of the family were always kept busy helping in the household, and were trained in sewing and needlework by their mother.
Sarah was baptised on the 10th June 1851 at the Church of St Thomas in the Parish of
Willoughby. The officiating minister at her baptism, the Rev W. Branwhite-Clarke, whose
signature appears on so many of the family’s birth , death and marriage certificates, also has a place in Australia’s history and deserves mention in this story:
