About Sarah Stone
Not the same as Sarah Stone
3. 1711, July 2, Probated 1717, May 1, North Farnham, Richmond Co., Virginia, Will of Sarah Stone, widow and relict of William Stone; Named daughter Elizabeth Dawson, wife of William Dawson, a tract of land near the lands of George Glascock and James Tune (containing) 40 acres which said land was bought of my son Philip Stone by the said William Dawson; Wits: Joseph Stone, Thomas Draper, Leonard Hart. 4. 1717, June 5, Estate Inventory of Sarah Stone, widow of William, presented by William Stone (Jr.), exec.
Note: Many trees have William's wife Sarah as Sarah Howard, some with her being the daughter of Francis Howard and some the daughter of Matthew Howard. I have totally eliminated Francis as her father since he was only 6 years old at the time of her birth and cannot find credible documentation that supports Matthew as her father.
Also, note that Howard may not even be her maiden name, this is only speculation based on may merged family trees with no credible sources for her maiden name.
It has also been speculated that her maiden name could be Lewis since the Lewis family was close to the Stone family and lived in the same area.
Anyone with credible sources regarding Sarah Stone's background and heritage, please feel free to contribute and share.
