About Sarah Ann York
Sarah Ann Wilson is the only daughter born to John Wilson and Ruth Childs on 10 March 1695 in West River, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is believed that Sarah moved with her parents in 1701 to their new home in Bohemia Manor, Cecil County, Maryland where she lived with her parents until her father's death in 1721 when she at age 26 married widower Jeremiah York I, age 38, as his second wife in West Nottingham, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Jeremiah was a widower who had recently arrived from Olney, Buckinghamshire County, England with his young son John York. Jeremiah most likely was a friend and acquaintance of Ruth Childs, the mother of Sarah born in 1678 in Olney, Buckinghamshire County, England. Jeremiah had apparently become good friends with John Wilson as indicated by her fathers will who devised a calf from his farm. It is reasonable to believe Jeremiah York I was a very good friend of both John Wilson and his wife Ruth Childs, the parents of Sarah Ann Wilson.
