Obituary:
Selma "Sally" Weiler, 84, died Monday, May 4, 1998 at the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 9 at 11 a.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Strandquist with Pastor Erling Huglen officiating. Ellen Johnson was the organist, and Vangie Carlson was the soloist. Casketbearers were Shane Olson, Darrin Foss, Wally Rud, Palmer Rud, Brandon Stromberg and Tom Olson. Interment was in the English Cemetery in Strandquist. Arrangments were with the Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad.
Selma Charlotte Stromberg was born on November 12, 1913 in Marshall county near Strandquist, the daughter of John and Ingeborg (Olson) Stromberg. She attended the former Sunnyside School near her home and grew to womanhood in the Strandquist community. Sally was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a long-time member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Strandquist.
On October 14, 1948 she was united in marriage to Richard Weiler. They resided in Newfolden until 1959 when they moved to Strandquist. Sally has resided at the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center since November of 1995.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; one daughter, Margie (Billy) Olson of Halma; two sons, Gerald (Carolyn) Stromberg of Wever, IA and Merrill (Linda) Stromberg of East Grand Forks; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel Stromberg of the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center; sister-in-law, Gladys Stromberg of Thief River Falls; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ronnie; one sister, Anna Rud; and three brothers, Art, Willard and Maynard.
