About Sevier Elston
Sevier Elston (b. 1814 or 1816 in Pendleton Dist., SC), second son (sixth child) of John Elston, Sr. and Elizabeth Clark (a granddaughter of Tennessee governor, John Sevier; daughter of Col. Wm. H. Clark and Elizabeth Sevier), married in 1837 Elizabeth Davis of Pickens Dist., SC. They only had one child, Harvey Elston, who was born after 1850 and died in 1869 without issue. All three are buried at Old Davistown Cemetery in Old Davistown, Calhoun Co., Alabama.

He and his wife settled in Choccolocco Valley, Alabama, where he was the postmaster at Corn Grove settlement 1842-1852. When his father died he inherited a portion of his plantation which included the family home, where he lived out the remaining days of his life.
