Ebenezer (John, John, Francis), bap. in Braintree, Mass. 1734; m. 1756, Jemima Allen, of Bridgewater, a sister or near relative of Ethan of Revolutionary fame; she d. in Braintree, May 28, 1818, age 83. Mr N. served in John Hall, jr' s Co., Col Palmer's regt., 1776, as sergt., in E. Billing's Co., Bass's regt. 1776, also in A. Clapp's Co., Carpenter's regt.; resided in what is now Quincy.

- 5 Francis, bap. Mar. 4, 1764; m. Apr. 17, 1790, Betsey, dau. of Richard Gardner of Braintree, where she d. Oct. 27, 1840, age 53. Mr N. served in Capt. Thomas Newcomb's Co., 1781, at Peekskill; in E. Thayer's regt. at West Point, 1780; also in Joseph Webb's regt.; Capt. Thomas Newcomb's Co. from Braintree. He enlisted on a privateer in War of 1812, fell from aloft in gale of wind and was lost. No ch.
