Sgt. John Gaylord Elderkin, V

(a. John Elderkin, III: Born 7 May 1694 at Norwich. Married Susannah Baker on 26 August 1714. John died in 1736. He and Susannah had the following children:

(1) Colonel Jedediah Elderkin: Prominent lawyer in Windham, Connecticut. Was a Representative for 17 years, a soldier throughout the Revolutionary War, and a member of the convention that ratified the U.S. Constitution.

(2) John Elderkin, IV: Born 3 February 1719. Married Rebecca Allen of Norwich in 1742. Died young. He and Rebecca lived in Groton, Connecticut and had at least 2 sons.

(3) Dr. Joshua Elderkin: Yale graduate and an ardent patriot during the Revolutionary War period.

(4) Susannah Elderkin: Born 12 August 1722. Married Jabez Bigelow of Norwich/Hebron, Connecticut. Susannah died in 1797.

(3. Bashua (Bathsheba) Elderkin: Born November 1665.

(4. James Elderkin: Born March 1670/71.

(5. Joseph Elderkin: Born December 1672.
