"Samuel was the only child of John and Hannah who stayed in Woburn and therefore inherited the homestead. Although he is the patriarch of Wilson's that lived in Woburn for many years his name does not often appear in town records. In 1697 he was shown as one that provided support for his aged mother. He became selectman in 1706 and although his title was Sargeant there is no record of military service."[1]
Samuel's estate did not go through the probate court. On June 19, 1724 he conveyed to his son, Samuel, by a deed endorsed by his wife, Elizabeth, several pieces of land in Woburn.[2]
