GEDCOM Note
Shubael Nash married Sybil Alvord. They made their home in North Adams, MA. At least ten of their eleven children were born at North Adams. Shubael was a private in Capt. Josiah smith's company. Col. Josiah Whitney's Regiment in the revolutionary War. He served from 1776 off and on into 1779 when his enlistment expired in Jan 1, 1779. His duty included defense of town and harbor of Boston in 1776, service at Rhode island in 1778 and 1779, service at Warwick, NH in 1778, and East Greenwich in 1778-1779. Some time between 1798 and 1824 the family removed to Williamstown, MA. Williamstown is situated near the juncture of the Hoosuck and Green Rivers. It is called Hoosuck by the Indians and was settled about 1751. It lies in the northwestern corner of the state of Massachusetts. The land here is generally of clay composure. There are many hills and mountains. It was at one time a flourishing sheep raising area. It is primarily an agricultural area. It is some 125 miles west-northwest of Boston.

Joshua Parker's co., Col. Nathaniel Wade's regt.; enlisted June 22, 1778; service at Rhode Island; also, Capt. Samuel Lamb's co., Col. Nathaniel Wade's regt.; enlisted June 22, 1778; service to Jan. 1, 1779, 6 mos. 14 days, at Rhode Island; also, same co. and regt.; muster roll dated Warwick, Nov. 7, 1778; reported on command at the works; also, same co; and regt.; muster rolls dated East Greenwich, Sept. 17, Sept. 22, Nov. 13, and Dec. 30, 1778; enlistment to expire Jan. 1, 1779.
