Died in Village of Woodville
Veteran of War of 1812.
Son of Zadock and Wealthy Ann Hamilton Grover
Married 3 Sep 1924
Born in Fleming, Cayuga County, New York.
Family traveled by wagon train from NY to Dodge County, Wisc & then on to Otisco, Mn. They were among the earliest settlers in Waseca County. The Grovers were a wagon train all by themselves as they had sheep, cattle, horses & several wagons. He must have been one hale & hardy pioneer to do this at age 50.
Silas Grover came to what is now the town of Otisco in 1856, and taking up a claim, settled there and remained a resident for many years.
Mr. Silas Grover, one of the oldest residents of the county, died on Tuesday afternoon, April 12th, at the residence of his son, D. M. Grover, in this village, in the 77th year of his age.
