When Simon Turner married, he was living in Wake County, N. C. He served as a captain in the militia of Col. John Hinton. He owned plantations in Wake, Johnson, and Dobbs counties. His will is on file at the N. C. Archives.

1752 Simon Turner, whois the son of John Turner, and Simon's wife Mary sell land in Nottoway parish,Southampton Virginia to Robert Johnson, Newport Parish. Land was granted in 1686 to John, willed to Simon. Adjoins the land of Mathew tomlin, Wm Westray , Tom Harris and Johnson, Sr.
