• Birth: 26 September 1779.1
• Parents: Sir James Ibbetson, 2nd Bt. and Jane Caygill.
• Wife: Charlotte Elizabeth Stoughton, daughter of Thomas Stoughton, on 4 February 1812.
• Death: 9 April 1839 at age 59.
• In 1817 his name was legally changed to Charles Selwyn by Royal Sign Manual.
• In 1825 his name was legally changed to Charles Ibbetson.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Ibbetson [G.B., 1748] on 5 June 1825.
