"Sir David Lindsay, Baronet [S. 1666], of Evelick, 1st s. and h.,( b ) b. probably about 1732, suc. to the Baronetcy, 6 May 1762 ; was retoured heir general of his father, 4 Feb. 1772 ; was Capt. 3d Reg. of Foot Guards, 1758-76 ; Lieut.-Col. of the 59th Foot, 1776 ; Major-Gen., 1777 ; Lieut.-Gen., 1779, and General, 1796 ; was also Custos Brevium of the Court of King's Bench. He m. Susanna Charlotte, widow of George Ellis, of Jamaica, da. of Samuel Long, of the same. He d. 6 March 1797, in Cavendish square, Marylebone. Will pr. March 1797. His widow d. 7 July 1818, in Berkshire. Admon. July 1818."
