Sir Hugh Campbell, 1st Lord Campbell of Loudoun was born after 1561.[1]
He married, firstly, Margaret Gordon, daughter of Sir John Gordon of Lochinvar and Juliana Home, in 1572.[3]
He married, secondly, Lady Isabel Ruthven, daughter of William Ruthven, 1st Earl of Gowrie and Dorothea Stewart, after 1608.[4]
He married, thirdly, Margaret Home, daughter of Sir George Home of Wedderburn, circa 11 October 1617.[2]
He died on 15 December 1622.[3]
He was the son of Sir Matthew Campbell of Loudoun and Isabel Drummond.[2]
- He was invested as a Knight in 1572.[3]
- He held the office of Sheriff of Ayr.[3]
- He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Irvine in 1579.[3]
- He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1601.[3]
