About Sir John Edward Longueville Clerke, 12th Bt.
Sir John Edward Longueville Clerke, 12th Bt. was born on 29 October 1913. He was the son of Lieutenant Francis William Talbot Clerke and Albinia Mary Evans-Lombe. He married Mary Beviss Bond, daughter of Lt.-Col. Ivor Reginald Beviss Bond, on 6 July 1948.2 He and Mary Beviss Bond were divorced in 1986. He died on 1 October 2009 at age 95.
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England. He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Clerke, of Hitcham, co. Buckingham [E., 1660] in 1930. He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England in 1934 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry (Territorial Army). He fought in the Second World War. He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants (F.C.A.) in 1948.2 He lived in 2003 at Sampford House, 27 Shurnhold, Bath Road, Melksham, Wiltshire, England.
