8 March 1682: Contract of Marriage between Laurence Ayton of Drumcarro on the one part and Mary Leslie, daughter of Sir John Leslie of Newton, Kt., with consent of Dame Isabel Hay, Lady Newton, her mother and John Leslie now of Newton, her brother on the other part. The said Laurence binds himself to infeft said Mary in annualrent of 300 merks Scots furth of lands of Drumcarro, sheriffdom of Fife and also binds himself to pay 6000 merks Scots to be divided among any daughters of the marriage, Mary's tocher being 2000 merks Scots.
