About Sir John Murray of Touchadame and Polmaise
Biographical Summary
"(235) Sir John Murray of Touchadam and Polmaise, served heir to his father 18th July 1580, to his mother 25th July 1594, and to his great-great-grandfather 8th April 1629. He was M.P. for Stirlingshire 1609 and 1625. He married Jean, daughter of John Cockburn of Ormiston, and had:-

"Sir John Murray, of Touchadam and Polmais, who got a charter, dated 26th December 1692, to himself and Jean Cockburn his wife, of several lands in Stirlingshire, containing a new erection, in consideration of the many good services he had himself rendered to the king, as well as of the loyalty so frequently displayed by his great-great-grandfather, John Murray, of Touchadam. Sir John m. Jean, daughter of John Coakburn, of Ormiston, and was s, by his son."
