457. At Westminster in the quinzaine of St. Michael ; between John de Muscegros, querent ; and Archenbald, Earl of Pergorz and Agnes his wife, impedients ; for the manors of Norton (Somerset) and Wyvelesmers (Suffolk). Plea of warranty was summoned. The Earl and Agnes acknowledged the right of John as by their gift, to hold of them, rendering yearly one penny at Easter, and doing for them all services ; and they warranted : for this John gave them eight hundred marcs.

Walter de Tundro, steward of John de Muscegros (son of Robert) stated that he had given seisen to Henry de Gaunt of all the land of Bruham which Henry leased at farm to Sir Robert de Muscegros (John's father) for a term of 10 years now completed. Lease expired in 1263, and in 1268, de Gaunt ceased to be master of St. Mark's. John de Muscegros was constable of Bristol Castle in 1274 and died in 1275. 5/1264, Sir John de Bassingbourne, Sir Robert Tipetot, Sir John de Mussegros, Sir Pain de Chawurthe, and Sir Robert Walronde in the castle of Bristol, hearing from the Queen that Lord Edward was a prisoner at Wallingford, left Bristol with 300 horsemen on a Friday as the sun rose.
