Biographical Summary
"Kenneth Mackenzie, of Coul, in the parish of Contin, co. Ross, 2d s. of Alexander Mackenzie, of Coul, being 1st s. by 2d wife Christian (m. in or before 1617), da. of Hector Monro, of Assynt, which Alexander (who d. 1650, at a great age) was illegit. s. of Colin Mackenzie, of Kintail, by Mary (sometimes called his 2d wife), da. of Roderick Mackenzie, of Davochmaluach, was b. probably about 1620; suc. to the estate of Coul on the death of his father, and was cr. a Baronet [S.], as above, 16 Oct. 1673, with rem. to the heirs male of his body, such creation however, not being recorded in the Great Seal Register. He was Sheriff of the united counties of Ross and Inverness. He m. firstly, Jean, 1st da. of Alexander Chisholm, of Comar. He m. secondly ( — ), da. of Thomas Mackenzie, of Inverlast. He d. in or before 1681."
