Parties: John Giffard' of Brymesfeld', querent, and Richard de Emneberwe, deforciant.
Property: The manors of Monynton' and Dylewe.
Action: Plea of covenant.
Agreement: John has acknowledged the manors to be the right of Richard.
For this: Richard has granted to John the manors and the advowson of the church of Monynton', to hold to John, of the chief lords for the life of John. And after the decease of John the manors and advowson shall remain to Nicholas de Audeleye and Katherine, his wife, and the heirs begotten by Nicholas on the body of Katherine, to hold of the chief lords for ever. In default of such heirs, remainder to the right heirs of John.

Nicholas de Aldithley was a witness where Nicholas, 1st Lord Audley second son and eventual representative of Nicholas de Aldithely, who was son of James de Aldithley, one of the Lords-Marcher, and an active adherent of Henry III in his contests with the Barons, whose father, Henry de Aldithley, built the castle of Heleigh, and founded Hulton Abbey in 1223.4 Nicholas de Aldithley was born before 1258. 4th son.3 He was the son of James de Aldithley, Justiciar of Ireland and Ela Longespee.2,3 Nicholas de Aldithley married Catherine Giffard, daughter of John, Lord Giffard of Brimsfield and Maud de Clifford, before 1287.3 Nicholas de Aldithley was summoned to attend the King at Salisbury, but such summons cannot be considered as a regular writ of summons to Parliament, on 26 January 1296/97 at 25 Edward I.3 The forces of Edward I defeat a Scottish army under William Wallace. On 22 July 1298 at the Battle of Falkirk, Scotland.5 Arms: Gules fretty or.6 He fought for King Edward I in the victory over the Scots led by William Wallace on 22 July 1298 at the Battle of Falkirk, Scotland. 1st Lord Audley of Heleigh before 1299.7 He died on 28 August 1299.2,3
