Owen (Gwyn) (Wynne) (Wynn) (Gwynn),

• Wynne/Gwyn family: Owen (Wynne) Gwyn, came to the colony under the third Charter in 1611, and became the proprietpr of the island long known as Gwynn's Island. His name is on the tablet in Gwydir Chapel which also gives his illustrious forefathers. He was the son of Sir John Wynne, of the Wynnes of Gwydir, by his wife, Lady Sydney Gerrard, daughter of Sir William Gerrard, Knight, Lord Chancellor of Ireland. At the death of Sir Richard Wynne, Owen succeeded to the Baronetcy. He married Grace Williams, daughter of Hugh Williams.It was on Gwynn's Island that the Battle of Point Pleasant, the first battle of the Revolutionary War was fought.     Sir Owen Wynn, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir John Wynn, 1st Bt. and Sidney Gerard.2 He married Grace Williams, daughter of Hugh Williams.1 He died circa 1660.1

    He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Wynn, of Gwydir [E., 1611] on 19 July 1649.1 He lived at Gwydir, Wales.1 Child of Sir Owen Wynn, 3rd Bt. and Grace Williams
