Biography

Sir Piers Legh VII (died 6 December 1589), was the son of Peter Legh, Esq. (d. 1541) and his 2nd wife, Margaret Tyldesley. This Peter Legh was the builder of Lyme Hall; was knighted at Leith in 1544; and was also High Sheriff of Lancashire in 1550. He was buried at Winwick.

Peter married 4 Margaret Gerard on 27 Aug 1518 in Lyme, Cheshire, England. She was the daughter of Thomas Gerard and Margaret Trafford.
