Having bought the estate of Plewlands, co Moray, it an others were by charter, 20 June 1642, erected into the Barony of Gordonstoun. He married 16 February 1612/13 in London, Louisa, daughter and heir of John Gordon of Glenluce, co Wigtoun and of Longurmea in France, Dean of Salisbury, 1602-19 (son of Alexander Gordon, Bishop of Galloway, 1568-83) by his 2nd wife Genevieve, daughter of Gideon Petau, Seigneur de Moylett, President of the Parliament of Brittany. He died March 1656, aged 76. His widow, who was born 20 December 1597, died September 1680, aged 83."
