Sir John Manners died shortly before October 1438 and was succeeded by his second son, Robert, who was married to Sir Robert Ogle’s daughter, Jenetta.

Robert (b. aft 1404)[1][2]was the second son of John Manners of Etal.[1] His elder brother, who carried his father's namesake, died between 1431 and 1438[3] ... leaving him heir.[1] Robert succeeded his father in October 1438.[1]
