About Robert Dethick of Dethick, Esq.
Not a known husband of Isabel Tuchet, Baroness
Biography
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/DeThick-18
Robert Dethick (dvp. abt. 1403), was the eldest son of Sir William Dethick of Dethick and Radbourne, Derby & Mattersey, Notts. (d. 1408/10) and Alice.[1] He died in battle.[2]
A comparison of Roskell, Clark & Rawcliffe's (1993) research,[1] to Blomefield's (1807),[2] suggests that his mother Alice,[1] may have been a Frankville,[2] but this is not certain because various pedigrees for the Dethick family do not agree.[3]
For instance, "Dethick of Newhall," in Vis. of Derby, 1569 & 1611, asserts that Robert was the son of Geoffrey.
Children
- Thomas (dsp) ... died in battle with father.[2]
- Isabel (d. c. 1435).[4][5] m. Thomas Babington (b. c. 1376 - d. 04 Jan 1464).[6][7]

Death
Roskell, Clark & Rawcliffe's (1993) state, that Robert dvp, so he died bef. 1408 or '10. Wikipedia asserts that he died in 1403,[9] while Blomefield (1807), states that he died in 1460 at Towton with his son Thomas, but this appears to be an error.[10]
Robert's daughter Isabel, brought Dethick Hall into the Babington family.[2] Stephen & Lee (1885) state, her husband Thomas Babington, was fifth in descent from John de Babington (living Hen III).[11]

The Battle of Shrewsbury was a battle fought on 21 July 1403, waged between an army led by the Lancastrian King Henry IV and a rebel army led by Henry "Harry Hotspur" Percy from Northumberland. The battle, the first in which English archers fought each other on English soil, reaffirmed the effectiveness of the longbow and ended the Percy challenge to King Henry IV of England.[1]
Part of the fighting is believed to have taken place at what is now Battlefield, Shropshire, England, three miles north of the centre of Shrewsbury.[1] It is marked today by Battlefield Church and Battlefield Heritage Park.
