Biographical Summary

"Sir Thomas Harvie Farquhar, Baronet [1796], 1st s. and h., b. 27 June 1775; suc. to the Baronetcy, 21 March 1819; was a partner in the Banking House of " Herries, Farquhar and Co.," of St. James' street, London, and a Director of the Guardian Insurance Company. He purchased an estate called "Granard," in Roehampton, Surrey. He m. 11 July 1809, Sybella Martha, da. and h. of the Rev. Morton Rockliffe, of Woodford, co. Essex, by Martha, 1st da. of the Rev. Thomas Leigh Bennett, of Thorpe Place, co. Surrey, and Aylsham, oo. Norfolk. He d. 12 Jan. 1836, aged 60, at King street, St. James', Westm. Will pr. Jan. 1836. His widow d. 20 April 1869, at 28 Upper Grosvenor street, in her 85th year."
