In 1521 [13 Henry VIII], Thomas married Margaret Wilbraham, daughter of William Wilbraham of Woodhey, Cheshire, esquire.[1]
Thomas and Margaret had children:
- Peter Daniell, son and heir, born 1529, died 9 November 1557, aged 27, married in 1550 [4 Edward VI] Alice, daughter of George Booth of Dunham Massey, esquire;[1]
- Thomas Daniell, second son, born 1534, died 1575 aged 41, heir to his brother Peter, married Alice Dutton, died after 1590, daughter of Fouk Dutton of the city of Chester;[1]
- Sir William Daniell, judge of the Common Pleas, third son;[1]
- Richard Daniell, fourth son, died in 1605;[1]
- Ellen Daniell, who was married to John Massy of Codington, Cheshire, 1553;[1]
- Margaret Daniell, who was married to 1) Christofer Holford of Iscoit, Flintshire, younger son of Sir John Holford, of Holford nigh Tabley, 1555 [2 and 3 Philip and Mary], and 2) James Barker of Hamond, near Shrewsbury;[1]
Thomas' father, Piers, died in 1522 [14 Henry VIII], aged 38.[1]
Thomas' mother died in 1542 [34 Henry VIII].[1]
Thomas predeceased his wife, dying on 2 June, 1551,[1] at Over Tabley, Cheshire, England.

Some online family trees claim that Thomas Daniell, Sr., of Over Tabley was the father of Roger Daniel, l. There is no known source for this claim. For a well-researched website that DOES NOT show that Thomas Daniels had a son Roger, see this page:

All of Roger Daniel's male descendants have SNP A11115, which is in the I2 haplogroup. The descendants of Thomas Daniel are haplogroup R1b. Therefore Thomas is NOT the father of Roger.
