About Solomon Osborne
A Patriot of the American Revolution for the state of Virginia (Soldier). DAR Ancestor # A205718
One source reports born in North Carolina.
Notes
There was only one "Indian Creek" Solomon Osborne in early Floyd/Pike and Sherwood was his son. There were others earlier in VA associated with the Ephriam Osborne clan including one that was killed by Indians attacking him along with several brothers camped on the New River. IMO "Indian Creek" Solomon is a descendant of either Ephraim or his brother Caleb in NC. There seems to be a connection with Dungannon, VA where he lived with his family before moving to Floyd/Pike: earlier known as "Osborne's Ford". I believe Osborne's Ford proprietor was one Stephen Osborne who may or may not be Solomon's father. I am not sure Stephen was of the Ephraim or Caleb line nor is anyone else IMO. The early New River Osbornes seem to have been involved in the fur trade with the Indians that spilled over on the Clinch in Scott County, VA with Stephen's Osborne's Ford IMO.
