Solomon Sell was born Sept. 22,1740 in York County , Pennsylvania, USA he died May 21, 1816 in Bristol City , Virginia, USA.

Solomon Sells bought 219 acres of land known as Timothy Meadows in Pennsylvania. This tract of land was acquired by land application in 1709 by John Michell and later assigned and later assigned to Solomon Sells. The application was dated Aug. 8, 1768. The land lay next to that of John Ashbaugh in Huntington, Pennsylvania. Prior to the death of father, Anthony Sells, Solomon bought land from a government agent, Henry Harklerode. The land at that time was in North Carolina but prior to moving it became Washington Co, Virginia, it consisted of 166 acres, he purchased it for the price of $923.00.
