Obituary from The Saginaw News Thu Jul 8, 1954 (38) "MARR, MRS. SOPHIA M., 6931 Bay Road, Kochville Township. Widow of Frederick Marr passed away at her home at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday after a three months' illness. Age 86 years. Sophia M. Goodman was born Feb. 13, 1868 in Zilwaukee, and had been a lifelong resident of Saginaw County. On May 13, 1894, she was married to Mr. Marr in Saginaw. He passed away Feb. 22, 1942. The deceased was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church at Amelith. Surviving are four sons and two daughters, Mrs. Edwin P. Wilson, Mrs. Arthur Kelsey, Arthur, Norman A., Herbert, and Walter E. Marr, all of Saginaw; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Eliza Lang, Saginaw. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Amelith St. John Lutheran Church. Rev. T.R. Bartell will officiate with burial in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery at Amelith. Friends may see Mrs. Marr at the Reitz Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Thursday and from 7 p.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Saturday at the residence, then from noon Saturday until time of service at the church."
