According to the Coroner's Inquest into the death of Stanislaus Kobus, held on July 16, 1889 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, no one was to blame for the wall that collapsed and killed him while working at Schlitz Brewery. The inquest records, which are available at the Milwaukee Historical Society, determined "that Stanslaus Kobus came to his death on 15 July, 1889 accidentally by being crushed by a falling wall at Schlitz Brewery on the corner of 3rd and Walnut St. and from the evidence we the jury can not blame anyone for this unfortunate accident." "Stan" Kobus is buried at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Milwaukee, Wisconsin: Block 1, row 45, lot 6.
