Stanley Arden "Artie" Groff - 86, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Hatfield, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Abington Health Lansdale Hospital.

He was the loving husband for 67 years to Trudell "Trudy" (Blank) Groff.

Born in Hatfield, PA to the late Allen and Mary (Alderfer) Groff.

Stanley was a truck driver for North Penn Transfer in Lansdale, PA for 32 years. He managed the drag strip at Hatfield Speedway and was manager of the 20th Century Club in Souderton. After retiring, Stanley worked part-time for EDS. He was a member of the Lansdale RA Chapter #301 F&AM for 50 years and a member of the Rajah Shriners International. Stanley was also a union representative for the Teamsters.

While working at North Penn Transfer, he won several championships in the Truckers Rodeo between the tri-states (New Jersey, PA & Delaware). Stanley volunteered at the Souderton Mennonite Homes by delivering mail and special paper announcements to residents and visiting with residents in the Alzheimer's wing.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR & Indy races and formerly competed in destruction derbies, where he won numerous times. Stanley was a member of Zion Mennonite Church of Souderton, PA.

In addition to his wife, Trudy, he was survived by: Barry Groff (Son) & wife, Rita of Hatfield, PA; Joanne Brewer (Daughter) & husband, Warren of San Jose, CA; Henry Groff (Brother) of Sumneytown, PA; 4 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Groff, 3brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Anders Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, Souderton, PA.
Burial was at Hillside Cemetery in Souderton, PA.
