Carlton R. "Jack" Groff, 93, of Souderton, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010 in Pennsburg Manor.

He and his wife Evelyn G. (Hildebrandt) Groff celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary August 31, 2010.

Born in Harleysville, he was a son of the late Allen and Mary (Alderfer) Groff. He was employed as a truck driver for the former North Penn Transfer for 18 years prior to his retirement in 1979.

Mr. Groff was a member of the North Penn Church of Christ in North Wales.

He was a former member of the Hatfield Fire Company. In his earlier years he played semi-pro football with the Sellersville Green Jackets and the Souderton Warriors. An avid NASCAR fan, he loved watching and playing all sports.

Memorial Services were held October 14 in North Penn Church of Christ, North Wales. Interment was in Zion Memorial Gardens.
