Mrs. Stella Monahan, 67, 967 East King street, died at 5 a.m. today at the Grandview hospital, La Crosse, after a long illness. Mrs. Monahan was born in Germany, and came to Winona from there when nine years old. Before her marriage to Joseph Monahan in 1897 she was Miss Stella Malotke. Mr. Monahan died in 1939. Mrs. Monahan was a member of St. Stanislaus church. Survivors are three sons, Joseph and Abraham, Winona, and John, Altura; four daughters, Eleanor, at home; Mrs. Earl (Gertrude) Sebold, Winona, and Mrs. Leo (Florence) Jilk and Mrs. August (Anastacia) Jilk, Minnesota City; 22 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Meier, Winona, and two brothers, John and Frank Malotke, Winona.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a. m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus church, the Rt. Rev. J. F. Cieminskl officiating. Preliminary services will be conducted at the home at 8:30 a. m. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
