Stephen Hopkins was born in September 1642 in Massachusetts. He was the son of Giles Hopkins and Katherine Wheldon [Whelden]. [1] [2][3]

He married Mary Merrick in 1667 in Massachusetts. [4] b. Eastham Nov. 1650; d. bet. 1694 and April of 1701

He m. (2) Eastham 7 or 9 April 1701 Bethia (Linnel) Atkins, bp. Barnstable 7 Feb. 1640/71; d. Harwich 24 or 25 March 1726; dau. of Robert and Peninah (Howes) Linnell; Bethis m. (1) Eastham 25 March 1664 Henry Atkins, called Bethya Lennett' in the record. The will of Robert Linnell, who d. 23 Jan. 1662, mentioned dau. Bethya.

He died 10 October 1718 in Harwich, Massachusetts. [5][3]

'No probate recs. have been found in Barnstable Co for Stephen Hopkins or either of his wives. He was mentioned both in his father's will of 1682 and the codicil of 1689.

Stephen Hopkins was the son Giles Hopkins, "Mayflower" Passenger and Catherine "Catorne" Whelden. He was born in Sep 1642 in Yarmouth, MA.156,73 Stephen died on 10 Oct 1718 in Harwich, MA.55

Stephen removed to Harwich, now Brewster, and settled, having all his father’s possessions there.55

On 23 May 1667 Stephen first married Mary Merrick, daughter of William Merrick (ca 1602-3 Dec 1686) & Rebecca Tracy (say 1625-3 Dec 1686), in Eastham, MA.156,3

Born on 4 Nov 1650 in Eastham, MA.3,156, Mary died in Harwich, MA, on 15 Apr 1692; she was 41.

Bethiah died on 25 Mar 1726 in Harwich.24

Stephen was a freeman in Eastham, MA in 1683. He moved to Harwich, MA sometime before 1701 and died 10 October 1718 at Brewster, Barnstable County, MA. at age 76. He was named in the will of his grandfather, Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower.
