About Susanna Clark
Noted songwriter and painter. Married songwriter and singer Guy Clark in 1969 and moved to Nashville in late 1971. Wrote and performed with modern country-pop stylists Mickey Newbury, Rodney Crowell and Townes Van Zandt. Songwriting credits include Kathy Mattea's "Come From the Heart," a No. 1 country hit in 1989, and "Easy From Now On," cowritten and recorded by Carlene Carter. Wrote hit songs for Terri Clark, Emmylou Harris, Miranda Lambert. Rosanne Cash, David Allan Coe, Jessi Colter, Lacy J. Dalton, Patty Loveless and Jerry Jeff Walker.
One of her paintings was used as the cover of Willie Nelson's 1978 album Stardust, as well as Harris' 1978 album, Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town. Her painting of Guy Clark was included on the sleeve of his 1975 album Old No. 1. At her request, she had no funeral or memorial service.
