About Susanna Frances Cleveland
Information about her and her brother and sisters (dates) were taken from tombs in Oconee County, South Carolina off the road on Main highway from Seneca to Greenville. Mount View Cemetary, Seneca? Episcopal Churchyard?
She met her husband, Francis Marion Cleveland at her 16th Birthday party. He played the fiddle at the party. Her family was against the wedding (Disinherited her for it?).
Lake said she was the only girl. Her husband died of tubercolis after being interned in a POW camp in Chicago - Fort Sheraton. She was left with children, no income. Brother in law took them in (Cleveland).
Her brothers came for her in a horse and buggy after her parents died and told her they needed her to sign papers at the Walhalla courthouse. Lake’s mother thinks they cheated her out of her inheritance from her parents.
