Mrs. Susanna E. Stitt, 62, of New Oxford, died this morning at the Warner Hospital, Gettysburg.

Mrs. Stitt was the widow of John M. Stitt and a life long resident of Adams County. A daughter of William and Laura (Yeatts) Fleming.

She attended Shippensburg State Teachers College and was, for a number of years a teacher in the rural schools of the county. Mrs Stitt was a member of The Pine's Lutheran Church; the Ladies Aid Society and a Sunday School Class of the church. She was also a member of the Women's Auxillary of the Albert J. Lentz Post of the American Legion.

Suvivors are these children: Merle E. of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colo.; Robert M. in Air Force, Aberdeen, Md.; Charles H. in Air Force, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. William Waddell of Brighton, Colo.; Mrs. Eugene Clapper of Gettysburg; two brothers: Harry Fleming of Gettysburg; Francis of Fairfield; two sisters: Mrs. George Slaybaygh of Taneytown; Mrs. Deilbert Brown of Woodbine, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services held at the Peters Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack Gardner, pastor of The Pine's Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in The Pines Cemetery, near New Chester.
